We welcome the first lady in our podcast series.
ELIN joined us with a mix that shows a wide range of musical inspirations as well as her deep love for disco, funk and soul infected house.In her chosen hometown Hamburg, Elin is the booker of two brilliant parties called DEAR and MONGREL at the beloved EGO club.DEAR is focussing on modern clubsounds inspired by house from Detroit and Chicago. Guests like Levon Vincent, Prosumer, Move D, Tom Trago, Session Victim and many others have joined DEAR so far, and the next artists to come up are Soundstream and Kyle Hall. MONGREL on the other side is featuring artists that are producing and playing music on the edge of house, like disco and (post)dubstep. So far Elin welcomed Joy Orbison and Mark E as her guests, so this new project looks like its going into a very interesting direction as well.Elin’s bookings show her openness when it comes to electronic music and this is also reflected in her own DJ sets that can vary in between house, disco and uk bass. Fortunately Elin is sharing the love for vinyl with us and delivered a vinyl only mix.

We bringing our „Retreat“ Story to an end. After Hauke Freer (Souldiction 21) we ´ve got the other half of the Retreat Label, QUARION.
Quarion has been in the music scene for a long time. First and foremost, he’s a music lover and collector with an interest in all kinds of Music, but in the last few years, house music has been his main passion. He has an almost endless list of Releases and Remixes. Our favourite Quarion remix is possibly his remix of Jamie Loyd’s „May I“. He’s released tunes for Drumpoet Community, Mental Groove, Plak, Mood Music, Dirt Crew Recordings, and many more...
Last year, with Hauke he founded the beloved „Vinyl only“ Label „Retreat“, on which almost every release has been sold out, (thank to all Vinyl lovers by the way).
We played the Retreat 07 by Iron Curtis in SD 31 and we´ve heard that the Test pressings of Retreat 08 have arrived.
He also plays keys and does background vocals in a Synth Pop Band called „Jules Etienne“, they have been already invited to play at the Morning Show for the German television channel ZDF Television.
So, for us he grabbed the chance to do a non-house mix and did a lovely HipHop Mixtape with some of his favourite Tracks.

For Souldiction 18 the lovely Marsmellows joined us this time.
MARSMELLOWS (Prog City Deep / Mancha Recordings / Germany)

In 2004 the DJs Cosmo & Laxus came together and founded the DJ & producer team “Marsmellows”.
Having played separately in former times both music and vinyl lovers were rocking local Hip Hop and Funk parties for real.
Among other things they made the warm- up for bohemians like The Pharcyde, DJ Vadim or Clueso.

After realizing that Hip Hop music won't come up with any new exiting developments for them the thought came up
to create a mutual collaboration called “Marsmellows” which keep on rocking still now. As both always possessed
an open- minded spirit concerning various musical influences the mission blew up to treat surrounding clubs with
their special definition of House music.

Since 2009 and their first release on Mancha Recordings, the duo working on remixes for labels like Prog City Deep & Etoka Rec.
Modern, crispy House that doesn't forget its natural Chicago & Detroit roots mixed with an essence of refreshing
funky tunes defines the sound Laxus & Cosmo are playing nowadays.

Marmellows having an agenda: turning every dark cellar club into a sunlight flooded dance floor.

So, finally the summer has arrived and we are all chilling in the sun with having BBQs  and cold beers and talking 'bout the good old days..90ies hiphop, collecting and diggin vinyls, graffitti and urban arts..and one who is a big part of the urban art scene in Germany is ALEK3000..we came up with the idea for him to show us his record collection in the form of a guestmix..Alek3000 aka No Cuts is a Graffiti artist and member of the BABUSCH Crew in Stuttgart/Germany, where he also lives..He calls himself more a Collector than a DJ and you can hear that in his extra long Guestmix for Souldiction's 15th Episode.
He is playing Wednesday from 20:00h on at the "Homie Abend" at Bergamo/Transit in Stuttgart. Be there!

Dionne from Hamburg is a very busy one. He is running with his partner Julius Steinhoff the lovely record store „Smallville“ in Hamburg, is producing and releasing Deep House Tracks on the same titled Record label..
He also started with Julius Steinhoff the Project „Smallpeople“ who just released on DJ Jus Ed´s Label „UNDERGROUND QUALITY“ their new EP(UQ 29).
The Release Party was just this weekend at the Ego club in Hamburg with „Dj Jus ED“ as Guest.
Dionne is playing regular at several Locations in Hamburg like „EGO“ or „Golden Pudel“.
